Frozen Light

The plot of this unusually thrilling science fiction adventure unfolds on two levels. Beneath the nuclear-contaminated ruins of the former city of Vienna, a few hundred people survive in a bunker complex, terrorized by a corrupt military regime under the ruthless command of General Eckart.

In an attempt to escape this bleak existence, if only temporarily, quantum physicist Carlo Wantis invents a time machine based on the discovery that all space-times within the multiverse are holographic projections. Carlo travels to the year 1848 and witnesses the Austrian Revolution. There, he finds unexpected allies: the call girl Madeleine and the mafia boss Twachritz.

During the execution of the revolutionary Robert Blum, Madeleine and Carlo trigger a time paradox, which catapults them into a parallel universe. They awaken in the bodies of the scientist couple Elisabeth Cuener and Seymour Winerift.

The third narrative level takes place on the world of WUNDEREDEN—a place that seems like paradise until it reveals its true face.
