CASCADE - Dormir

SYNOPSIS

The PRIMAVERA stays on course for the star Lemtow 642, 36 light-years away.

On board, 3,000 men and women lie in cryosleep.

Dr. Daniel Ahrens, head of the medical team, enjoys his computer-generated cryostasis life as a young French aristocrat of the late 18th century.

An affair with a married woman catapults Ambroise, Vicomte de Garlancourt, into a duel of swords—one that will end in life or death.

Thus begins the overture to an adventurous escape.

In London, Ambroise studies medicine—a transformation within him takes place. Enthralled, he submits himself to the initiation ritual of a Masonic lodge.

While searching for his missing parents, he is swept into the bloody maelstrom of the Parisian Revolution.

Eventually, his journey leads him to America, where he serves as a regimental doctor in the war against rebellious Native Americans.

After 146 years of travel, the unexpected happens:

The artificial intelligence of the spaceship decides to wake the entire crew.
